Recognized and Approved

Baker College has long been recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as an institution of higher education and has been granted the legal authority to operate as a nonprofit educational corporation by the State of Michigan, Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. The College is empowered to grant certificates and associate, bachelor, master, and doctoral degrees. It is also approved for veterans’ benefits.

ACF American Culinary Federation Education Federation

The Muskegon and Port Huron Baking and Pastry program is accredited by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation Accrediting Commission (ACFEFAC). Graduates are eligible to become Certified Pastry Culinarians upon graduation.

The Muskegon and Port Huron Culinary Arts program is accredited by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation Accrediting Commission (ACFEFAC). Graduates are eligible to become Certified Culinarians upon graduation.

IACBE International Accreditation Council for Business Education

The College of Business at Baker College has received specialized accreditation for its business programs through the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE), located at 11374 Strang Line Road in Lenexa, Kansas, USA. List of accredited programs.


College of Education

NAEYC Accredited

The Early Childhood Education Associate of Applied Science degree program at Baker College is accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Early Childhood Higher Education Programs of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The current accreditation term runs from March 2021 through March 2028. 

CAEP Accredited Provider Excellence in Education Preparation Accreditation

The Baker College Teacher Education Program is awarded accreditation by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) for a period of six years, from October 26, 2020 and December 31, 2026. The accreditation does not include individual education courses that the EPP offers to P-12 educators for professional development, re-licensure, or other purposes.
