Award Amount: Up to $3,000 per semester (maximum of $9,000 per year)

How to Transfer

Program and Activity Scholarships

These scholarships can be stacked with other undergraduate scholarships (not to exceed total cost of tuition, fees, housing and books).

Award Amount: Established annually based on housing charges

  • First Year: 100% of housing charge, $2,300 per semester (maximum of $4,600)
  • Second Year: 50% of housing charge, $1,150 per semester (maximum of $2,300)
  • Eligibility determined upon initial or reentry undergraduate enrollment to Baker College.
  • Must reside in Baker College housing at the Owosso, Cadillac or Port Huron campuses.
  • Enroll in a credentialed certificate, associate or bachelor’s degree program.
  • Must be under 25 years old at the start of the semester.
  • Complete the FAFSA application process annually.
  • Register for the minimum number of credit hours required to reside in Baker College housing (typically 12 credits).
  • Maintain Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements.
  • Renewable for one year with continuous enrollment; awarded at 50% of the housing charges ($1,150 per semester).
  • The scholarship amount is based on institutional charges and will not be refunded to the student.
  • Not available for the summer semester.

Award Amount: Up to $500 (one-time award)

  • Eligible after active membership and participation in the Esports Club for a 16 week semester and earning a minimum of 12 credit hours.
  • Continued active participation and membership in the Esports Club.
  • Scholarship awarded for the semester following eligibility.
  • Register for a minimum of 6 credit hours for the semester of award.
  • Maintain Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements.

Award Amount: Maximum award amount varies based on rankings:

  • Level 1 will cover tuition, student and program fees, housing and provide an allowance for books and supplies each semester (including summer).
  • Level 2 will cover 50% of tuition, student and program fees, housing and provide an allowance for books and supplies each semester (including summer).
  • Selection of this scholarship and renewal is determined annually based on maintained athletic and academic eligibility and continued participation on The Swarm Varsity Team.
  • Enroll in a credentialed certificate, associate, bachelor’s or Master’s degree program.
  • Complete the FAFSA application process annually.
  • Register for a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.
  • Maintain Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements.
  • The scholarship amount is determined based on institutional charges not covered by other sources of financial aid, VA or other resources. 
  • The allowance for books and supplies will be determined each year based on the average book costs. Level 2 scholarship recipients will be awarded 50% of the book allowance.
  • Students receiving the Esports Varsity Scholarship are not eligible for other Baker College funded scholarships.
  • Typically scholarship funds will not be refunded to the student. Book allowance funds not spent at the Baker College bookstore may be refunded to the student to assist with additional books and supply purchases.

Award Amount: Up to $250 per semester (maximum of $750 per year)

Baker considers first generation as students whom neither parent(s) nor guardians have attained a college degree at the Bachelor’s level or beyond.

  • Eligibility determined upon undergraduate enrollment as a new student to Baker College.
  • Enroll as a first-generation college student (fall 2024 or later): neither parent(s) nor guardians have attained a college degree at the Bachelor’s level or beyond.
  • Enroll in a credentialed certificate, associate or bachelor’s degree program.
  • Complete the FAFSA application process annually.
  • Register for a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester (award prorated if less than 12 credits).
  • Maintain Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements.
  • Renewable until graduation or up to 4 additional years with continuous enrollment.
  • The scholarship amount is based on institutional charges and will not be refunded to the student.

Award Amount: Amount and number of scholarships available will be determined based on the level of funding received from the state of Michigan.

  • The student must be accepted into the Bachelor of Science Nursing Degree Program. 
  • The student intends to practice as a nurse in the State of Michigan.
  • The student is not in receipt of a full scholarship from another source.
  • The student must be a permanent resident in the state of Michigan.
  • If the student is licensed as a nurse, they must hold an unencumbered Michigan license to practice nursing.
  • Maintain Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements.
  • Complete the scholarship application  by June 1st.

Award Amount: Up to $1,000 (typically paid during the fall semester, may be used for the summer, upon request)

  • Currently attending an undergraduate campus.
  • Earned 60 credit hours with a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
  • Register for a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester.
  • Maintain Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements.
  • The scholarship amount is based on institutional charges and will not be refunded to the student.
  • Complete the scholarship application  prior to May 1 for priority consideration.

Award Amount: Up to $1,000 (typically paid during the fall semester, may be used for the summer, upon request)

  • Currently attending an undergraduate campus.
  • Earned 60 credit hours with a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor of Information Technology and Cybersecurity program.
  • Register for a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester.
  • Maintain Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements.
  • The scholarship amount is based on institutional charges and will not be refunded to the student.
  • Complete the scholarship application  prior to May 1st for priority consideration.

Award Amount: Up to $1,500 per semester (maximum of $3,000)

  • Eligibility determined upon initial undergraduate enrollment.
  • Must be pursuing a certificate or associate degree offered through the Auto Diesel Institute (ADI).
  • Must have a 2.5 high school or college cumulative grade point average.
  • Complete the FAFSA application process annually.
  • Register for a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester (award prorated if less than 12 credits).
  • Maintain Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements.
  • Scholarship must be used in consecutive semesters.
  • The scholarship amount is based on institutional charges and will not be refunded to the student.

Award Amount: Up to $2,000 per semester (maximum of $4,000)

  • A limited number of scholarships are available to new and continuing students.
    • New students: enroll within 5 years of high school graduation with at least a 3.0 GPA. 
    • Continuing students: earned a minimum of 24 credit hours with a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average by the end of spring semester.
  • Enroll in a degree program offered at the Culinary Institute of Michigan (CIM).
  • Complete the FAFSA application process.
  • Register for a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester (award prorated if less than 12 credits).
  • Maintain Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements.
  • The scholarship amount is based on institutional charges and will not be refunded to the student.
  • Complete the scholarship application prior to June 1st for priority consideration.

Alumni and Back 2 Baker Scholarships

Baker Alumni who have earned an associate, bachelor’s, or master’s degree can earn funding based on their GPA.

Students who previously attended Baker College but weren’t able to complete their bachelor’s degree may qualify for funds through our Back 2 Baker Scholarship. Apply today for free.

Bachelor Alumni Scholarship

Award Amount: Varies based on grade point average earned for prior associate degree:

  • 3.5 GPA (Platinum Level): $3,000 per semester (maximum of $9,000 per year)
  • 3.0-3.49 GPA (Gold Level): $2,000 per semester (maximum of $6,000 per year)
  • 2.5-2.99 GPA: $1,000 per semester (maximum of $3,000 per year)

  • Eligibility determined upon re-enrollment to Baker College in a bachelor degree program.
  • Earned an associate degree from Baker College with at least a 2.5 GPA.  
  • Complete the FAFSA application process annually.
  • Register for a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester (award prorated if less than 12 credits).
  • Maintain Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements.
  • Renewable until graduation or up to 2 additional years with continuous enrollment.
  • The scholarship amount is based on institutional charges and will not be refunded to the student.
  • This scholarship cannot be combined with other enrollment or reentry scholarships.

Doctorate Alumni Scholarship

Award Amount: Up to $2,000 per semester (maximum of $6,000 per year)

  • Eligibility determined upon initial enrollment into a Baker College Doctorate Degree program.
  • Earned a Baker College bachelor’s degree with at least a 2.5 GPA or master’s degree with at least a 3.0 GPA.  
  • Complete the FAFSA application process annually.
  • Register for a minimum of 5 credit hours per semester (award prorated if less than 9 credits).
  • Maintain Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements.
  • Renewable until graduation or up to 3 additional years with continuous enrollment.
  • The scholarship amount is based on institutional charges and will not be refunded to the student.
  • Students attending St. Francis School of Law are not eligible.

Graduate Alumni Scholarship

Award Amount: Up to $2,000 per semester (maximum of $6,000 per year)

  • Eligibility determined upon initial enrollment into a Baker College Master’s Degree program.
  • Earned a bachelor’s degree with Baker College with at least a 2.5 GPA.  
  • Complete the FAFSA application process annually.
  • Register for a minimum of 5 credit hours per semester (award prorated if less than 9 credits).
  • Maintain Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements.
  • Renewable until graduation or up to 3 additional years with continuous enrollment.
  • The scholarship amount is based on institutional charges and will not be refunded to the student.

Back 2 Baker Scholarship

Award Amount: Varies based on combined college grade point average:

  • 3.5 GPA (Platinum Level): $3,000 per semester (maximum of $9,000 per year)
  • 3.0-3.49 GPA (Gold Level): $2,000 per semester (maximum of $6,000 per year)
  • 2.5-2.99 GPA: $1,000 per semester (maximum of $3,000 per year)

  • Eligibility determined upon reentry undergraduate enrollment to Baker College.
  • Complete the FAFSA application process annually.
  • Register for a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester (award prorated if less than 12 credits).
  • Maintain Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements.
  • Renewable until graduation or up to 3 additional years with continuous enrollment.
  • The scholarship amount is based on institutional charges and will not be refunded to the student.
  • This scholarship cannot be combined with other enrollment or alumni scholarships.

Specialty Program Pricing

Students attending the Nursing (RN to BSN), Nursing (RN to MSN), or Master of Science Information Systems programs are not eligible for Baker College Scholarships due to specialty program pricing. Visit the Tuition page for details.

Grants

Grants can come from the federal government, the state government, Baker College and private organizations. Unlike scholarships, which are merit-based, a grant award is typically based on financial need and does not have to be repaid.
